Our ongoing personal involvement in the development process has raised the quality bar to a place where accuracy and consistency are guaranteed with every kite we make. Our new 2DR Double Rip Stop material is designed to provide a light weight yet durable canopy with extremely low stretch properties. This translates into a kite with the ability to lock in its intended shape and is ultra reactive to rider input. Volae 2DR Double Rip Stop material comes in a 53 gsm canopy material and a 75 gsm reinforcement material. Both utilize the shape locking double rip stop pattern and proprietary finish (emulsion).
The double rip stop also provides for additional protection against tears. It is a balanced weave of 40 denier yarns with double rip stop clusters of yarns to improve the tear strength. It is very stable and low stretch in the warp and weft directions and has controlled elongation with good recovery on the bias. This enables the kite shape to be very stable yet still twist freely while turning. Our Dacron LE and strut material is made up of 150 denier warp yarns and 250 denier weft yarns. This puts the strongest and lowest stretch yarns around the circumference of the leading edge where the forces from inflation are greatest. Our Dacron material is very stable on all three axis do to the nature of the weave along with the heavily resin impregnated finishing process. Our Volae fabrics also have a unique roller printed look.

STRATEGIC REINFORCEMENT LIGHTER MORE DURABLE
All Cabrinha kites are designed and built on a Skeletal Frame foundation. Skeletal frame technology allows us to make a lighter more durable kite by strategically placing the reinforcement weight materials into a framework that surrounds the lighter weight canopy materials. We start by placing the most durable, 160 gsm Dacron material into a framework that locks in the intended shape. We then create the canopy shape and profiles with a light weight yet highly durable 53 gsm polyester woven material.
We build on the durability of the canopy material with a second layer of durable 53 gsm double rip stop woven material over the high stress strut sections. We then layer into the perimeter a 75 gsm, double ripstop reinforcement material to combat the extreme loads that are placed on the trailing edge and wing tip areas of the kite. We then finish off the kite with details such as molded EVA chafe protectors. Robust leading edge protectors and triple row stitching at the high stress inter-segment seams near the center of the kite. We seal it all up with a woven nylon ribbon reinforcement on the leading edge closing seam.
TIGHTER ARC IN FLIGHT FOR FASTER TURNING OPENS WIDE ON THE WATER FOR FASTER RELAUNCH
A dynamic arc allows the kite to have two distinct arc shapes. It takes on one shape while flying and another shape while in resting mode on the water. The flying shape occurs as soon as the kite gets airborne and the front lines are under tension. This is the kite’s intended shape which is optimized for the intended usage. The arc shape is held in place by a simple set of bridling. The dynamic arc shape occurs when the kite is resting on the water in relaunch mode. The arc is allowed to open its span which orients the wingtips in a position to facilitates a super quick relaunch.
SPRINT SINGLE POINT INFLATION:
The Sprint Inflation System with Airlock is the most efficient and easy way to get your kite pumped up quickly. The large one-way Airlock valve quickly feeds air into all of the struts from a single location. The Airlock connection to the Sprint pump now requires no special adapters. Once inflated you can lock off each strut independently to keep your kite’s rigid frame, and isolate any accidental strut deflation from the rest of the kite. When the session is over The entire kite will deflate in seconds thanks to the Airlock valve’s large dump feature.

POWER CONTROL PIGTAILS:
POWER UP OR DOWN TO MAXIMIZE RANGE
Every Cabrinha kite comes with a simple, adjustable way to choose the power level of the kite. Each rear line “pig tail” connector has three power positions which you can connect to. The middle position is the factory recommended position. But the user can choose to create more power by connecting the knot closest to the kite or less power by connecting to the knot closest to the rider.
The new bar ends can change the length of your bar from its standard mode of 49 cm, to the Overdrive mode of 57 cm in seconds. The Overdrive mode will increase the turning speed and performance of any kite large or small.
Low V provides more direct feel.
We have lowered the front line connection to the CAS in order to provide a more direct and immediate response from your bar input.
Complete shut down in all conditions
When it comes to security, the Overdrive™ 1X control bar integrates our all new 1X single line flagging system. The 1X is not a depower system, it is a full blown shut down system. The 1X relies on only one line to immediately shut down the power of the kite whether it be on land or water in all wind conditions.
The main QR activates the 1X complete shut down in all conditions. To reconnect, simply push the QR up until it catches on the hook, insert the pin through the tower and cover the pin with the QR. Located below the main QR the secondary QR allows the rider to completely disconnect from their kite.
RECOIL + ERGONOMIC TRIM ADJUSTERS:
One of QuickLink’s defining features is our Recoil trim adjuster. Recoil keeps your trim adjusters in the same position every time. Even after you’ve depowered your kite, Recoil will return the trim adjusters to the exact same position for easy operation.
MULTI BORE TUBING:
One of the features allowing us to internalize everything is the dual chamber PU tubing. The protective PU tube allows us to run the depower mainline and the 1X landing line through the center of the bar without the risk of abrasion or tangling.
FLOATING BAR ENDS:
The EVA ends are buoyant enough to float the entire control system with lines attached, thus making the bulky floats on the leader lines unnecessary.
The internal swivel allows the depower mainline and the 1X security line to spin together in unison. This eliminates the chance for the lines to tangle within the PU tubing.

Direct Steering. More Responsive. Faster Turning.
We have lowered the front line connection to the CAS in order to provide a more direct and immediate response from your bar input. Equal forces from all four control lines allow a natural and relaxed position for the arc shape to open. This more natural, or less altered angle, makes both sheeting and steering more responsive. As you steer the kite you apply tension to the rear corner of the kite in the direction you want to turn. As this happens there is another force applied to the opposite front control line as the kite initiates the turn. With a low “V” set up, the force to the opposite front control line is instantaneous and direct where, with a high “V” set up there is a slight delay.
